أكّدت مستشارة رئيس الحكومة حسّان دياب للشؤون الطبية بترا خوري في سلسلة تغريدات على حسابها عبر "تويتر"، أن "العودة إلى المدرسة مليئة بالقلق لكل من الآباء والأطفال".
وسألت خوري : "ماذا لو حدث هذا في وسط جائحة كورونا!".

وأشارت إلى أنه في شهر شباط، كان إغلاق المدرسة ضروريًا لأننا "لم نكن نعرف الكثير عن فيروس كورونا، لكننا تعلمنا الآن أن الأطفال أقل عرضة للإصابة بعدوى، وأقل عرضة للإصابة بمرض شديد عند الإصابة، كما لم يلعب الأطفال دورًا رئيسيًا في انتقاله".
Back in February, school closure was necessary as we didn’t know much about #Covid_19 but we’ve now learned children are less prone to #COVID19 infection & less likely to become severely ill when infected. Children have also not played a major role in its transmission. Thread 2/5

ولفتت إلى أن "إغلاق المدارس أدى إلى تفاقم الفوارق بين الطبقات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية المختلفة، وأثر التعليم عن بعد بشكل سلبي على تعليم الأطفال وصحتهم العقلية ونموهم الاجتماعي، مما أدى عدم الوصول إلى الأجهزة وضعف شبكة الإنترنت إلى الحد بشكل كبير من التعلم عن بُعد".
School closures has exacerbated disparities among different socio-economic classes. Negative impact of remote learning has affected children’s education, mental health & social development. Lack of access to devices & poor WiFi significantly limited remote learning. Thread 3/5

وأضافت خوري ، "الأطفال يتكيفون بسهولة خاصة عندما يكون الكبار قدوة سلوكية، نريدهم أن يقلدوها".
وقالت: "نحن نعلم أطفالنا ربط أحذيتهم ، ويمكننا تعليمهم إرتداء الكمامة وتطبيق مسافة التباعد الإجتماعي، وواجبنا هو الحصول عليهم، بأمان قبل تاريخ إعادة فتح المدارس".
Children absorb & adapt easily especially when adults role model behaviors we want them to copy. We teach our children to tie their shoes, we can teach them to #WearAMask & apply #SocialDistancing. Our duty is to get them #BackToSchoolSafely prior to Reopening date. Thread 4/5

وختمت خوري: "حتى الآن، لم يتم ملاحظة أي حالات تفشي كبيرة في المدارس التي تحترم تدابير السلامة الوقائية، في وقت انتقال فيروس كورونا إلى المجتمع ،ونحن مدينون لأطفال لبنان، بالحفاظ على حقهم في الحصول على أفضل تعليم أثناء تنفيذ مسار آمن إلى المدارس".
To date, no significant outbreaks were observed in schools that respected safety preventive measures. At a time of #COVID19 community transmission, we owe it to the kids of Lebanon to preserve their right for best education while implementing a safe path to schools. #BackToSchool
