كتب رئيس حزب "التقدمي الاشتراكي" السابق وليد جنبلاط، في منشور على حسابه عبر منصة "إكس"، صباح اليوم الخميس: "أدركت القوى النووية خلال الحرب الباردة أن التدمير المتبادل (MAD) أمر لا مفر منه".
وأضاف، "لذلك اتفقت على معاهدات تسلح للحد من سباق التسلح".
وتابع، "إن القرار 1701، إذا تم تطبيقه بشكل صحيح على جانبي الحدود، يوقف المزيد من التصعيد ويمنع التدمير المتبادل".
