Head of parliament, Nabih Berri, declared today that so far, he does not understand the reasons behind the abstention to the sessions he has called for, adding that some are acting as if it were a crime.
In an interview with” Al Joumhouria”, Berri stated: “Dialogue is the only solution. Without it, we cannot address the presidential crisis.”
He continued: “We have reiterated that dialogue is key, and it will happen eventually. If they had agreed to listen to the initiative to converse, we would have elected a president a year ago, we would have saved our country from all these complications, disruption and paralysis.”
When questioned about who would lead the dialogue if agreed upon in Beirut, Berri asserted that he would take charge, dismissing the possibility of anyone else leading the discussions.
