MP threatened in a speech that incites Sunnis! (Video)

In response to the State Security's raid, joined by MP Charbel Maroun, on displacement camps in the West Beqaa region and the excesses revealed by the inspection, a video of a militant surfaced on social media directing veiled threats to MP Maroun. This video fueled sectarian tensions, claiming that Sunnis are being abused.

The man in the video addressed the raids on the camps and highlighted the participation of MP Maroun, a member of the Free Patriotic Movement. The man was wondering in what capacity the MP, a civilian, participated in a security raid.

He said that this sectarian Christian MP belongs to a movement that was clearly against Lebanese Sunnis long before the Syrian Sunnis. The founder of the movement, former President Michel Aoun, made several derogatory statements targeting both Lebanese and Syrian Sunnis alike.

He questions how the security apparatus permits the involvement of this sectarian MP, especially in another area where tensions exist between the MP and the locals. He also questions the legitimacy of the MP's participation in the raid, even if it was in support of Syrian refugees. He was also concerned about how these camps are accessible to all and how any security apparatus is allowed to enter freely.

He holds the MPs of the region responsible for allowing Charbel Maroun into the camps of the displaced in their own areas. The man considers that this is a major violation, especially as it prevents the entry of any civilian in a security raid, whether it is the President of the Republic or any ordinary civilian.

Hezbollah was not spared from the man's attack, as it aimed at what he called a state in the southern suburbs. He alleged that Hezbollah stormed into houses, claiming that civilians entered one of the houses and killed a Syrian on the grounds that it was organized by the Islamic State. No official was questioned and no one was arrested. The deceased might have been falsely accused and had no connection to the alleged claims.

In a purely sectarian spirit, the man says: The Sunnis are accessible to whomever and can be targeted by anyone. He referred to what happened in the Christian areas in the north, where Syrians were reportedly assaulted by locals, recalling what the escort of one of the MPs did.

Explaining the absence of men from the camp raided by MP Maroun, the man justifies saying that they knew about the raid. They left the camp to avoid a fate similar to that of the Syrian, who was arrested by a security force at four. He was tortured and died after few hours. The security force responsible is to be judged for such action. How can the men in the camp not escape given such circumstances?

The man in the video reiterates his question to the MPs of the region, asking them where they were when it happened and how they can allow a sectarian man to conduct raids in camps located within their area. He urges them to take a position, warning that if the Sunnis remain silent, they could be subjected to raids in the future, potentially overseen by figures like MP Charbel Maroun or members of the Dahiya party, who may inquire about our papers and nationality.

He stresses that the Sunnis must realize the magnitude of this conspiracy. They should protect the Syrians because they are our brothers. If the Syrians seek refuge in a third country, the presence of Sunnis will diminish in Lebanon, and they will become mere numbers. For this reason, the Sunnis must take a clear position by advocating for the return of the Syrians to their homeland. It should be forbidden for them to seek refuge in a third country. They should be encouraged to go to Qusayr, Ghouta, and Daraya because the Sunni villages must return to their people. The man describes Hezbollah as a terrorist party that occupies their territories.
