"Lebanon Debate"
Calls for progress in the presidential file are mounting, driven by the urgent need to sustain the functioning of constitutional institutions and to face the economic social collapse in addition to the regional and local challenges, yet until now no concrete progress has been made in the presidential file.
In this context, member of democratic gathering, representative Bilal Abdallah confirmed to Lebanon debate: “We will renew our efforts to find a solution in the presidential file amid this internal stalemate and the absence of a serious dialogue between the concerned Lebanese parties. We want to find a common ground that can allow presidential elections to take place.”
He clarified: “Since the beginning of the presidential vacuum until today the “democratic gathering” has been relentless, we are constantly renewing the communication with the other political blocs to unite visions and find solutions. This is a national duty.”
Abdallah also added: “Our bloc will visit all the concerned sides to build communication channels, seeking a way to end the presidential vacuum through a united vision.”
The representative considered Le Drian’s visit to be a renewed international endeavor to help Lebanon, however it seems that the Lebanese politicians welcome these efforts out of politeness, only to neglect them later on.
