"Lebanon Debate"
Tomorrow, all eyes will be on the Baabda Palace of Justice as prosecutors in the Garderêve case anticipate any developments in the famous child abuse case within the nursery.
The three defendants involved in the case of the abused child, the abuser Jenny El Khoury, the nursery owner Tony Mhanna, and the photographer who documented the abuse, Joumana Bou Said, remain detained at the Baabda Palace of Justice following the rejection of their release requests.
Headed by Judge Rabih Al-Hossami, the Criminal Court will convene its final session tomorrow to deliver the final verdict in the presence of the children's parents' representative, lawyer Emma Helou. Simultaneously, the children's parents plan to gather outside the Palace of Justice in Baabda in the afternoon.
The parents are steadfast in their demand for a just verdict, seeking accountability for anyone involved in child abuse or complicit in such acts. They aim to ensure that the verdict is fair and free from any political interference, thereby deterring any institution responsible for children's welfare from neglecting their duties, as was allegedly the case in the "Garderêve" nursery.
The parents are counting on the judiciary. This case is a test for this legal authority, which is currently under scrutiny by the Lebanese public opinion.
