“Lebanon Debate”
Eight months have passed since the onset of the war on the Lebanese southern front. The devastating Israeli strikes left countless damages, affecting all aspects of life. Furthermore, it had severe economic repercussions, leading to paralysis in the southern region and significant losses.
In this context, the Parliamentary Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Committee, headed by MP Fadi Alameh, intends to conduct a series of meetings with ambassadors from the Group of Latin American and Caribbean States. During these meetings, they will highlight the health, social, economic, and environmental repercussions of the Israeli aggressions on Lebanon thus far.
MP Fadi Alameh clarifies in an interview with Lebanon Debate that "these meetings will initially occur weekly. Additionally, we will convene with an ambassador representing one continent to provide them with a comprehensive report detailing the extent of damage caused by the Israeli attacks, thereby shedding light on the suffering experienced in the southern regions."
He revealed that “the first meeting is scheduled for next week with ambassadors from Latin American and Central American countries, anticipated to take place on either Tuesday or Wednesday. During this session, all available data will be presented to provide a clear understanding of the destruction and harm inflicted upon the people in the southern areas.
In conclusion, Alameh emphasized "the need to showcase to international public opinion the atrocities occurring in southern Lebanon, and advocate for efforts to deter the Israeli enemy from committing more criminal acts."
