“Lebanon Debate”
Despite the internal challenges facing the presidential elections, the progressive socialist party is continuing its efforts to engage with political powers in hopes of finding common ground and fostering positive cooperation on the presidential file, as MP Taymur Jumblatt visited the national moderation bloc yesterday.
In this context, Moderation Bloc member, MP Ahmad Rustom, confirmed to "Lebanon Debate" that the meeting with Jumblatt and the accompanying delegation was positive, especially since the Progressive Socialist Party supports the initiative proposed by the quintet.
He added: “We hope that the path to success will prevail, and we will continue to work towards resolving the presidential file and overcoming all obstacles in our way, mainly regarding who will head the dialogue and who will call for the session. These 2 points were the main elements that were hindering any progress in the presidential elections.”
Rustom also addressed the security situation in the country and denounced the incident at the US embassy, especially amid the current collapse leading the country to chaos.
