Military Intelligence Busts Syrian Gang Exploiting Workers

The streets of Beirut witnessed tense moments as both a shooting and a vehicular attack occurred in Corniche el-Mazraa, resulting in injuries.

Security sources, speaking to Lebanon Debate, revealed that the Military Intelligence Directorate identified a Syrian gang that exploits fellow Syrian workers in Lebanon. They are masquerading as Syrian intelligence officers and promising the workers to secure their legal residency in the country.

After surveillance and monitoring by the Military Intelligence Directorate, an ambush was prepared to apprehend the gang's leader, who was accompanied by a woman believed to be his wife and another individual in a "Range Rover." In an attempt to escape, the vehicle struck an army member who happened to be passing. He was transferred to the military hospital to receive the necessary treatment. The intelligence field operatives chased him on motorcycles until they were able to apprehend him.

During the pursuit, intelligence field operatives fired shots at the car's tires to immobilize it, prioritizing the capture of the gang leader alive to gather crucial information about the gang's operations and its mastermind.
