Dangerous Truth Unveiled: Head of Syndicate Threatened

“Lebanon Debate”

Last Wednesday, Judge Joelle Abou Haidar, the single judge handling juvenile cases in Mount Lebanon's Baabda district, issued a decision deeming international pharmaceutical company Fresh Pharma International S.A.L a threat to newborns and minors. The judge ordered the company to cease selling or distributing any of its medicines and food supplements.

In response to the severity of this decision, Joe Salloum, head of the Lebanese Pharmacists Syndicate, circulated a directive to pharmacy owners to refrain from dispensing any products from Fresh Pharma until the Ministry of Health issues a formal decision. However, the repercussions of this decision appear significant, as Salloum disclosed in an interview with "Lebanon Debate" that both he and the syndicate are facing threats and slander due to their involvement in exposing a case of falsifying expiration dates on children's nutritional supplements.

Salloum emphasized that following Judge Joelle Abou Haidar's decision, which highlighted Fresh Pharma's potential danger to children and minors, the syndicate conducted internal investigations. Ensuring children's health and safety is their top priority, and they have submitted their findings to the Public Prosecution of Appeal and the juvenile court.

He highlighted that their actions have provoked backlash, including personal threats and defamation campaigns. Salloum vowed to take legal action against anyone threatening him or attempting to undermine their efforts to protect children and patients' health.

Regarding the identity of those behind the campaign, Salloum refrained from citing names but asserted that anyone affected by their exposure of the truth is likely involved in targeting him and the syndicate.
