Yesterday, all eyes were Bkerki as believers from all over Lebanon surged to celebrate the beatification of Maronite Patriarch Estephan Douaihy.
Described as a “heavenly celebration”, the event took place despite the current tensions and heightened security in Lebanon.
With approximately 12,000 faithful attendees filling the Patriarchal Monastery's grounds and a large political presence, Patriarch Douaihy was declared beatified in a Mass led by Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rai.
