كتب رئيس الحزب التقدمي الإشتراكي السابق وليد جنبلاط، في منشور على حسابه عبر منصة "اكس": "إن رحيل جوزيف بوريل من منصبه كممثل أعلى للمفوضية الأوروبية للشؤون الخارجية سيكون خسارة كبيرة لأنه سيسمح للأحزاب اليمينية والفاشية الجديدة بالسيطرة على المفوضية".
وأضاف، "لقد أدان جوزيف بوريل بشجاعة جرائم إسرائيل".
