أشار مدير مستشفى الحريري فراس أبيض في تغريدة على حسابه عبر "تويتر"، رداً على سؤال الى أن "يجب أن نتذكر 3 حقائق ذات صلة بكورونا، سيبقى فيروس كورونا معنا حتى نجد لقاحًا أو علاجًا ، غير مرجح قبل 6 أشهر وإذا تركت كورونا دون تحرك ، فسوف تطغى على المستشفيات مما يؤدي إلى العديد من الوفيات وأخيرًا ، يتطلب فيروس كورونا الاتصال للانتشار".
1.7 The question below is important. We should remember 3 relevant facts. C-19 will stay with us till we find a vaccine or a cure, unlikely before 6 months. ولفت الى أن "وحدة الترصد الوبائي (ESU) في وزارة الصحة دورًا مهمًا في تتبع الاتصال وهذا الصباح ، تحقق 8 فرق في جميع أنحاء لبنان ، وتجمع العينات وتقيم الاختبار ، وبشكل رئيسي في مستشفى الحريري، سيسمح بعزل الحالات الإيجابية والحد من الانتشار".
2.7 The Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (ESU) at @mophleb plays an important role in contact tracing. This morning, 8 teams are investigating all over ????????, collecting samples. Testing, mainly at RHUH, will allow isolation of positive cases and limiting spread.

وشدد أبيض على أن "هذا هو المكان الذي تخوض فيه المعركة"، لافتاً الى أن "إذا كانت وحدة الترصد الوبائي غارقة ، فسوف نرى أحداثًا تخرج عن نطاق السيطرة مشابهة لبعض الدول الأخرى".
وأضاف: "الآن بعد رفع القيود واستئناف العمل ، ما نقوم به بشكل فردي وجماعي سيقرر مسارنا المستقبلي".
3.7 This is where the battle is being fought. If the ESU is overwhelmed, we will see events spiraling out of control similar to some other countries. Now that the lockdown is lifted and business is resumed, what we do individually and collectively will decide our future course.

وأشار الى أن "على المستوى الفردي، يتمتع المرء بمزيد من التحكم وهناك شيئان مطلوبان، ارتداء الأقنعة والتباعد الاجتماعي وكلما زاد التزام الناس، قل الانتشار"، لافتاً الى أن "قد تكون العقوبات مطلوبة، لكنها لن تكون كافية وعلينا أن ننتبه ونتعظ".
4.7 At individual level, one has more control. 2 things are required, wearing masks and social distancing. The more people abide, the less the spread. Penalties may be required, but will not be sufficient. We have to embrace it and preach it. The buck stops with us.

واعتبر أبيض أن "بالعمل مع وزارة الصحة ، لاحظت أنه كان من الأسهل احتواء الفيروس عندما كان المجتمع المصاب أكثر وعياً ولعب الأفراد دورًا استباقيًا"، مشيراً الى أن "بشري مثال جيد ويساعد الأفراد المتعلمون من خلال نشر الوعي وتحدي السلوك غير المسؤول".
5.7 Working with @mophleb, I noticed that the virus was easier to contain when the affected community was more aware and individuals played a proactive role. Bshirri is a good example. Learned individuals help by spreading awareness and challenging irresponsible behavior.

وشدد على أن "الأفراد الذين يجتمعون يولدون عملًا جماعيًا ويمكن اتخاذ تدابير للحد من المخاطر وفتح ومواصلة العمل بأمان محليًا"، مشيراً الى أن "فيروس كورونا لا يحترم أي حدود سياسية أو طائفية أو اجتماعية أو مالية".
وتابع:" العدو للجميع هو فرصة للجميع للعمل كفرد".
6.7 Individuals coming together generate collective action. Measures to reduce risks and open and continue to work safely can be decided locally. C-19 respects no political, sectarian, social, or financial boundaries. An enemy to all is an opportunity for all to work as one.

ولفت أبيض الى أن "الأمر صعب لأن نتائج الأعمال لا تُرى على الفور وتتأخر التغذية الراجعة، وقد يؤدي الناس إلى الاعتقاد بأن الأعمال السيئة ليس لها عواقب"، مشيراً الى أن "العديد من البلدان دفعت ثمناً باهظاً لتعلم ذلك وحتى الآن قمنا بعمل جيد ولمواصلة القيام بذلك في أيدينا".
7.7 C-19 is difficult because the results of actions are not seen immediately. Feedback is delayed, and people may be lead to believe bad deeds have no consequences. Several countries have paid dearly to learn this. So far we have done well. To continue to do so is in our hands.
