The health ministry condemned, in the strongest terms, the “monstruous Israeli bombing that targeted the Salah Ghandour Hospital in Bent Jbeil, leading to the martyrdom of a civilian and the wounding of 7 other in addition to 8 workers in the hospital of whom 2 are in critical condition and the destruction of the front and entry of the hospital.”
The ministry considered: “This bombing is a war crime and is a continuation of the vicious circle of clear violations committed by Israel against health institutions and health workers in Lebanon. Israel is violating human rights laws, the Geneva convention, all international laws and norms that stipulate the protection of health workers, their respect, and their safety during armed conflicts.”
The ministry also asked the international community, the United Nations and the human rights organization to condemn this aggression and to take the appropriate measures to stop these heinous repeated crimes in addition to holding those responsible accountable.”
The health ministry also expressed its condolences to the martyr’s family, and fast recovery to the injured.
It also confirmed that it will not back down from performing its humanitarian and national duty. The ministry will always speak up to defend the citizens’ rights and to protect health workers while relying on the principles of justice and international law.”
