Abou Rajab: Another Victim in Tripoli

placeholder

"Lebanon Debate"

Shooting into the sky, once a Lebanese tradition to mark joyous occasions or commemorate the passing of loved ones, has taken a troubling turn. Guns are now being wielded in the streets as a response to both verbal and physical altercations or in pursuit of justice.

Recent events in Lebanon, particularly in Tripoli, show that armed conflicts are getting out of hand. Not a day goes by in Tripoli without confrontations of a sort or gunfire, with yesterday's events serving as yet another distressing example.

According to Lebanon Debate, Amer Dib, also known as "Abou Rajab," was targeted by unidentified assailants on a motorcycle in the al-Koba area. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the attack.

Dib was transported to Tripoli Governmental Hospital to receive necessary treatment, but tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after and passed away.

Security forces came to the scene and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident. Efforts are underway to apprehend the shooters, who fled to an unknown location.
