Beirut Fire Brigade: Salary Dispute Leads to Damage

placeholder

“Lebanon Debate”

According to initial reports received by Lebanon Debate, a member of the Beirut Fire Brigade allegedly vandalized fire trucks at the Bachoura center due to an unpaid salary, while another member reportedly stole a car and fled.

When contacted by a regiment officer, Lebanon Debate was informed that the situation may have been exaggerated and that it's prudent to wait for the official for accurate information.

Regarding the reasons behind the actions of the firefighter, questions arise about possible salary payment issues within the regiment. The officer clarified that there are no delays in salary payments; however, salaries are tied to active service. Therefore, those actively serving receive their salaries, while those not on duty do not.

It's speculated that the officer involved may have been experiencing financial difficulties, leading to this behavior. However, complete information regarding the motives is still pending.
