Region Drowning in Waste out of Political Spite

Many activists in Miniyeh region were shocked by former MP Othman Alameddine's statement regarding the waste crisis, and strongly condemned it. They believe that his statement not only condemns him but also fails to contribute to finding solutions to a crisis he himself caused.

Activists disclosed to "Lebanon Debate" that Alameddine is the last person who should speak about the waste crisis. Residents of Miniyeh have not forgotten, and will never forget, how Alameddin boasted about setting fire to the Waste Sorting Plant to halt its operations. This action led to the resurgence of the waste crisis in the region, only to become the responsibility of the current MP of the region, out of political spite.

They also confirmed: “ The entire Miniyeh region is now paying the price for Alameddin's misguided political agenda, which has backfired on him. He is attempting to shift blame and responsibility onto others. However, no matter how eloquent Alameddine's statements may be, he cannot conceal the truth of his actions, known all too well by the people of Miniyeh.”
