Tripoli Clash Leaves 2 Wounded

The northern city of Tripoli is currently experiencing heightened security tensions, despite efforts to contain the situation. These tensions came to a head on Tuesday evening during a clash between a Lebanese Army patrol and individuals from the Beddawi area.

According to “Lebanon Debate” sources, the conflict erupted when a Lebanese Army unit was patrolling the Beddawi region. An altercation took place between members of the patrol and individuals identified as M.S. and A.SH., escalating into an exchange of insults and profanity.

The sources further stated that the altercation escalated when M.S. attacked one of the army members, prompting the soldier to raise his firearm and fire shots to quell the fight. As a result, two individuals sustained gunshot wounds.

Both men were transported to Tripoli's Governmental Hospital for treatment as M.S. is reported to be in critical condition, while A.SH. is said to be in a stable condition.

Army reinforcements were dispatched to the area to establish a security cordon in light of the tension that prevailed among the people of Beddawi due to this dispute.
