After nearly two years since Lebanon received French donations for public transportation buses, Minister of Public Works and Transport Ali Hamieh will announce the start of a new phase in a press conference scheduled for 11 AM on Wednesday.

According to “Lebanon Debate” sources, these buses have been prepared and are ready to commence operations, aiming to alleviate transportation challenges amidst the harsh economic conditions. The initiative will operate under a public-private partnership framework, adhering to the law and regulations set by the Public Procurement Authority.

Minister Hamieh has dedicated a year to overcoming obstacles, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing state responsibilities. He will officially announce these developments in tomorrow's press conference.

Earlier, the minister had shared a photo on his "X" account of the new buses, captioned with a message of determination and commitment: "With willpower, perseverance, and focus on work, our appointment is tomorrow."

On May 23, 2022, Lebanon received the French donation through the Beirut port, initiating preparations for a new legal framework in Lebanon's transport sector, with the state acting as regulator and the private sector as operator.
