Nakhle Matta was beaten and stabbed, yesterday in an attempt to take his car, by 2 unknown men on the road linking Wadi el Laymoun to Kfar Falous.
For more details, “Lebanon Debate” contacted the mayor of Wadi el Laymoun, Labib Tannous, who said: “Nakhle’s in a stable condition, but he is still being monitored at the Ghassan Hammoud Hospital in Sidon, since he is suffering of a small hemorrhage in his neck.”
Tanous also revealed: “After waking up, Nakhle confirmed that on his way to Beirut through the Darb es Sim Road, 2 men threw something at his car, which made him slow down while driving and in the blink of an eye they had opened his car doors, hitting and stabbing him with a knife.”
The mayor added: “The whole truth will be revealed after the arrest of the 2 assailants. Nakhle has also confirmed that the accent of both men was Lebanese, hence the non-involvement of Syrians and Palestinians in the assault.”
Finally, Tannous highlighted: “Since yesterday, security forces have been going through the needed procedures to arrest the 2 men and have found some links but we haven’t been informed yet if they were arrested.”
