“Lebanon Debate”

Chairman of the Human Rights Committee and MP Michel Moussa confirms that “the last visit of the French presidential envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian aimed to reassess opinions with the Lebanese parties. Therefore, this visit did not carry any proposals.”

In his discussion with Lebanon Debate, he considers that “Le Drian’s visit is a continuation of the research on the presidential file and the task entrusted to him by French President Emmanuel Macron. However, as of now, there have been no developments. Nonetheless, the Lebanese political forces are expected to initiate consultations because waiting for external dates that may or may not materialize is not feasible."

What about the new movement of the "Progressive Socialist" party that will begin tomorrow? He believes that "this move is an important and positive step towards fostering communication among everyone. He thinks that this initiative will yield positive results, especially since the “socialist” party has extensive relations with all parties."

Moussa emphasized "the need to convene a dialogue table and support President Nabih Berri's ongoing initiative, with the aim of resolving the long-delayed presidential file."
