The fate of Ali Hakim Zehyan, a 45-year-old resident of a village in Akkar, remains unknown following his disappearance last Thursday.
According to "Lebanon Debate" sources, Ali, who resides in Beirut with his 10-year-old daughter, works as a plumber.
Facing economic challenges, he sought additional sources of income to support his family's needs. Hence, the plumber turned to social media platforms and ads offering work opportunities.
An individual contacted him via WhatsApp, informing him of a job opportunity in the Kaa region, involving a villa construction project with accommodation provided throughout the project duration.
The sources clarified that the person who contacted Ali agreed to meet up with him on Thursday 30/5/2024 to discuss the nature of the work, scheduled to commence on Monday.
Ali maintained communication with his ex-wife during his journey, sharing the contact information of the individual he was meeting in case of any communication issues. However, contact with Ali was lost around 2:14 PM on Thursday, and he ceased answering his phone after reaching the agreed rendezvous point near Al Aassi Bridge. His ex-wife's attempts to reach the contact number provided by Ali were in vain.
The sources concluded that Ali s family contacted security forces to report his disappearance, and there are continuous efforts to find any relevant information, but no significant progress has been made since Thursday.
