The Lebanese political forces held a significant meeting with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin. The meeting featured an unusual display of camaraderie between Gebran Bassil of the Free Patriotic Movement and Sleiman Frangieh of the Marada Movement. Their side conversations reflected an atmosphere of unexpected warmth between them.

On the other hand, the absence of Samir Geagea from the Lebanese Forces and Sami Gemayel from the al-Kataeb Party from these discussions raised questions about their stance. This absence does not necessarily coincide with the boycott by the head of the Supreme Shiite Council of the meeting.
