Gantz: Lebanon Will Pay the Price for Hezbollah’s Actions

placeholder

Yesterday, renewed concerns emerged about the escalation of conflict on the Lebanon front between Israel and Hezbollah. This followed heightened Israeli calls for expanded military action, a day after 18 Israeli soldiers were injured in a Golan Heights site targeted by a Hezbollah drone.

Israeli opposition leader Benny Gantz remarked, "Hezbollah must choose between being Lebanese or Iranian, or face consequences."
He emphasized, "The absence of a resolution on our northern border means Lebanon will bear the brunt of Hezbollah's actions."

In contrast, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed, "We are working to prevent the conflict in Gaza from spreading to northern Israel (southern Lebanon), and I believe all parties are against such a war."

Regarding the Palestinian issue, Israel's release of Al-Shifa Medical Hospital director Mohammad Abu Salmiya from Gaza after seven months of detention reignited accusations of prisoner mistreatment and dire conditions. Abu Salmiya's release sparked controversy within Israel. Officials in Netanyahu's government and security agencies are disavowing responsibility for the decision.
