Substitute Mikel Oyarzabal scored in the 86th minute to lead Spain to a 2-1 victory over England in the 2024 UEFA European Championship final, securing their record-breaking fourth title yesterday, Sunday.
Oyarzabal capped off a swift counterattack with a goal that crowned Spain champions, having won all seven matches they played in the tournament held in Germany.
After a cautious first half dominated by Spain, with England having only one attempt on goal, Spain opened the scoring just two minutes into the second half.
After 2 minutes of the start of the second half, Lamine Yamal delivered a decisive pass that winger Nico Williams converted into a goal.
Substitute Cole Palmer equalized for England in the 73rd minute.
However, Oyarzabal's goal denied England their first international title in 58 years.
