Siniora Clarifies the Arab League Decision

On Monday, Former PM Fouad Siniora stated, “Hezbollah is a Lebanese party. As Lebanese, we do not differentiate between its political and political wings. Therefore, I will neither agree nor disagree with the decision of the Arab League. I am simply curious about the reason behind this sudden gift.”

In his interview with the Al Jadeed channel, he was asked whether the decision not to consider Hezbollah a terrorist organization is building a foundation for improved relations between the party and Saudi Arabia. The former PM responded, “Why rush? Let events unfold naturally, and then we will see.”

The Arab League previously designated Hezbollah as a terrorist organization in 2016, calling for an end to its propagation of extremism and sectarianism, interference in internal affairs of nations, and support for terrorism in the region.
